Two West Seattle Pizza Spots I Love

Ask me for my favorite pizza in West Seattle and I’m going to have a hard time giving you just one answer.

Two places are at the top of my list: Pizzeria 22 and Supreme. They’re both great, but for completely different reasons. The pizza is different, the atmosphere is different, and honestly, that’s part of why I love having both right here in West Seattle.

When I’m in the mood for wood-fired pizza and a cozy neighborhood dinner, Pizzeria 22 is an easy choice.

Located at 4213 SW College Street in the Admiral area, Pizzeria 22 specializes in Neapolitan-style pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. Their menu includes classics like the Margherita alongside plenty of combinations that go well beyond the basics.

It has the kind of warm, intimate atmosphere that works just as well for an easy dinner at the bar as it does for meeting friends and settling in for the evening. And I love that the restaurant describes its approach as pizza served “with a side of community.” That feels very West Seattle to me.

Then there’s Supreme.

Supreme is on California Avenue in the Junction, and this is a totally different pizza experience. Think big slices, a casual pizza-bar atmosphere, music, drinks and a menu that isn’t afraid to have a little fun.

You can keep things classic with pepperoni, or venture into some of the more unexpected combinations. Supreme has built a reputation around pizzas that are playful without forgetting that, first and foremost, the pizza has to be good. And don't skip the garlic knots.

It’s casual, unfussy and has plenty of personality. Sometimes that’s exactly what a pizza night calls for.

So Which One Is My Favorite?

I’m calling this one a tie.

Pizzeria 22 and Supreme scratch two completely different pizza itches, and I’m very happy that I don’t actually have to choose between them.

That’s also one of the things I love about living and working in West Seattle. We have so many independent restaurants and neighborhood spots with personalities all their own. Getting to know and support them is part of what makes this community feel like home.

Have a West Seattle pizza place you think I need to try? Send it my way. I’m always happy to add another favorite to the list.
